Burloes Hall wedding

I was thrilled when Tara and Paul asked me to be their wedding photographer at Burloes Hall. They are such a couple and I have previously taken portraits of Paul, his sisters, and their partners, as well as engagement photos of Paul and Tara.

The wedding took place at All Saints Church in Haslingfield, Cambridgeshire. Interestingly, it coincided with England’s World Cup quarter-final match, which meant that the couple got featured in The Sun Newspaper!

The bridesmaids looked stunning in shades of pink, lilac, and green. Meanwhile, Paul and the groomsmen looked dashing in blue suits complemented by yellow ties. The yellow confetti added a touch to the celebration—I even managed to capture an amazing shot of the guests showering confetti on the lane outside the church. Tara’s bouquet perfectly matched the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses.

Following the church ceremony, we headed to Burloes Hall—a beautiful country house nestled amidst the picturesque hills of north Hertfordshire. Its Edwardian gardens, adorned with beech trees, created an ambiance that is often absent in typical hotel venues since it still serves as a cherished family home, for Sir Frances and Lady Newman.

The wedding reception took place in a marquee situated on the lawn. They had a large TV set up so they could all stay updated on the England game, which was of importance to everyone.

After an enjoyable wedding breakfast filled with laughter, there were heartfelt speeches that left me teary-eyed, especially during the groom’s speech, which was delivered brilliantly. They then had the opportunity to unwind and enjoy drinks with their loved ones on the lawns surrounding Burloes Hall. It was a summer evening, creating the perfect end to a wonderful day. As an added bonus the England team emerged victorious in the World Cup quarter-final!

Paul & Tara, congratulations! May you have joyful years together. If you happen to be searching for a wedding photographer for your events, at Burloes Hall please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would be thrilled to return again!
