unique Wedding photoGRAPHY shot by an exceptional wedding photographer
There is real know-how when the photographer has the experience of several hundred weddings and as many couple or family sessions. The talent and the seasoned eye are not innate, they sharpen and improve over the photographic adventures that we live and capture. The poetry and aesthetics in our images are also the fruit of many years of experimenting with photographic techniques, our gaze and our sensitivity thus becoming a part of our photo-taking.

What is typically included in a wedding photography package?
Wedding photography packages can vary greatly depending on the photographer, but most packages generally include the following elements:
Pre-wedding consultation: This is a meeting (either in-person or virtual) to discuss your vision, style preferences, and any specific moments you want captured. It’s an important part of ensuring that the photographer understands your expectations.
Full-day coverage: Most packages offer coverage from bridal preparations through to the evening reception, capturing all key moments such as the ceremony, speeches, first dance, and candid moments in between.
Second photographer: For larger weddings, some packages may include a second photographer to capture different angles and candid moments, ensuring more comprehensive coverage.
Post-production and editing: After the wedding, your photographer will spend time editing your images to enhance colors, lighting, and overall quality. This includes correcting exposure, retouching, and converting images to black and white if desired.
High-resolution digital images: Photographers typically provide high-quality, edited images in digital format (either via a secure online gallery or USB drive), so you can download, print, and share them.
Online gallery: Many photographers offer an online gallery where you and your guests can view and download images. This is a convenient way to share photos with family and friends.
Prints or albums: Depending on the package, you may receive printed photos or a bespoke wedding album. Premium packages often include beautifully bound, high-quality albums designed to showcase the best moments from your day.
Engagement shoot: Some packages include an engagement or pre-wedding shoot, which is a great way to get comfortable with your photographer and capture beautiful images for invitations or announcements.
Travel and accommodation fees: If your wedding is outside of your photographer’s usual area, some packages may include travel or accommodation costs. It’s important to clarify this upfront to avoid surprises.
Additional extras: Some photographers offer extra services such as same-day slideshows, printed thank-you cards, or custom-designed USB drives.
What types of wedding photography packages are available?
Wedding photography packages are generally divided into three categories: basic, standard, and premium.
Basic package:

A set number of edited digital images (often around 200-300)

Basic online gallery access

Full-day coverage (8-10 hours)

A second photographer or assistant
Online gallery and USB with high-resolution images
Option to add prints or a small album
Premium package:

600+ edited images
Two photographers
High-end albums and prints
Engagement or pre-wedding shoot

How much do wedding photography packages typically cost?
Wedding photography package prices can vary widely depending on factors such as the photographer’s experience, location, and the package features. In the UK, typical prices fall into the following ranges:
Basic package: £800 – £1,500
Standard package: £1,500 – £2,500
Premium package: £2,500 – £5,000+
Couples looking for luxury or destination wedding photography might find prices even higher, especially if additional services such as videography or high-end album design are included.
Can I customize my wedding photography package?
Yes! Many wedding photographers offer customizable packages to ensure your needs are met. For instance, if you need extended hours, additional printed albums, or a mix of photography and videography, you can typically discuss these options with your photographer. Be clear about your budget and must-have features, as most photographers are flexible and can adjust the package to suit your preferences.
What is a “second shooter,” and should I consider one in my package?
A second shooter is an additional photographer who works alongside the main photographer on your wedding day. They capture additional angles, more candid moments, and sometimes cover events in different locations (such as the groom’s preparations). Hiring a second shooter is especially valuable for larger weddings, where it’s challenging for one photographer to cover all the action. Many premium packages include a second shooter, but you can also add one to most packages for an extra fee.
How do I choose the right wedding photography package?
Choosing the right package depends on a few factors:
Budget: Determine how much you’re willing to spend and look for packages that offer the most important elements within your price range.
Coverage needs: If you want full-day coverage, ensure your package includes enough hours to cover from the bridal prep to the evening celebrations.
Album and print preferences: If you want physical albums or prints, make sure your package includes these. Some couples prefer just the digital files, while others value having a professionally curated wedding album.
Wedding size: For larger weddings, a second photographer or extended coverage may be necessary to ensure nothing is missed.
Why should I consider both wedding photography and videography?
While wedding photography captures beautiful still moments, wedding videography brings your day to life by preserving the movement, sounds, and emotions of your wedding. Many couples choose both photography and videography because they complement each other. Photography captures timeless images for framing and albums, while videography records the laughter, vows, and speeches, allowing you to relive the day in a more immersive way.
Here are a few key reasons to consider both:
Capturing emotions in motion: Wedding videography captures the subtle, fleeting moments that can be missed in photos—like your partner’s reaction during the vows, the music of your first dance, or heartfelt speeches from loved ones.
A different perspective: Videography offers a dynamic, cinematic perspective that complements photography. While photographers focus on still moments, videographers create a flowing narrative, showing the day’s energy.
Reliving key moments: Videos allow you to relive key moments like the exchange of vows, speeches, and first dance. It’s particularly valuable for remembering the words and sounds, such as the music, laughter, or your loved ones’ voices.
Sharing with loved ones: A wedding video can be easily shared with guests who were unable to attend, allowing them to experience the day as though they were there.
Highlight reels: Many videographers offer highlight reels—a short, edited version of your day—which can be shared on social media or with family and friends.
What’s included in a wedding photography and videography package?
When booking a combined wedding photography and videography package, it’s essential to know what’s typically included:
Full-day coverage: Both the photographer and videographer will cover your wedding from the bridal preparations to the evening reception, ensuring that both stills and footage are captured throughout the day.
Pre-wedding consultation: Both professionals will meet with you to discuss the style, approach, and key moments you want covered. This ensures they are on the same page and can work seamlessly together.
Cinematic wedding film: You’ll receive a beautifully edited wedding video, often available in different lengths (such as a short 3-5 minute highlight reel and a longer 15-30 minute film). Some packages also offer full-length ceremony or speech recordings.
High-resolution images and edited video: After the wedding, you’ll receive high-quality, edited photographs and a professionally crafted video. Both will be delivered digitally, often through an online gallery for the images and a download link or USB for the video.
A team of professionals: Larger packages may include a second photographer and/or videographer, especially for bigger weddings. This ensures that no moment is missed from different angles and locations.
Optional extras: Some packages may include extras like drone footage, same-day edits (a short film of the wedding day shown at the evening reception), or printed albums and DVDs.
What styles of wedding videography are available?
Just like wedding photography, there are several styles of wedding videography to consider:
Documentary style: This is an unobtrusive approach where the videographer captures the day as it unfolds, resulting in a natural, real-time narrative that feels authentic.
Cinematic style: Cinematic wedding videos are edited and shot in a way that feels more like a film, with dramatic camera angles, creative transitions, and carefully chosen music to evoke emotion.
Storytelling: In this style, the videographer focuses on capturing your story, perhaps including interviews with the couple or guests, voiceovers from speeches, or personal messages to enhance the narrative.
Traditional: Similar to documentary style, this is a classic approach that captures all the formal moments—like the ceremony, first dance, and speeches—without much artistic editing.
Drone videography: Many couples opt for aerial footage using drones to capture stunning views of their venue and surroundings. This adds a cinematic element to your wedding video.
How much does a combined wedding photography and videography package cost?
The cost of wedding photography and videography packages depends on factors like experience, location, coverage time, and add-ons. For a combined package in the UK, you can expect to pay:
Basic package: £1,500 – £3,000 (this typically includes one photographer and one videographer, partial-day coverage, and edited digital images and videos).
Standard package: £3,000 – £5,000 (full-day coverage, edited photos and videos, a highlight reel, and often a second shooter for both photography and videography).
Premium package: £5,000 – £8,000+ (all-day coverage with a team of photographers and videographers, drone footage, luxury albums, multiple videos, and more elaborate editing).
How do wedding photographers and videographers work together on the day?
Photographers and videographers often collaborate closely to ensure they capture your wedding seamlessly without getting in each other’s way. Communication between the two is key. They typically plan their shots beforehand and work together to ensure they capture all the critical moments without missing anything or stepping on each other’s toes.
Here’s how they coordinate:
Different angles: Photographers may focus on close-up shots while videographers capture wide angles or motion.
Lighting: They will work together to ensure lighting setups (especially for staged shots or evening moments like the first dance) benefit both photography and videography.
Candid moments: One may focus on more formal shots (such as family portraits) while the other captures candid or documentary-style moments.
Can I hire a single company for both wedding photography and videography?
Yes, many wedding vendors offer combined photography and videography services. Or photographers can also recommend a videographer they always work with and vice-versa. Hiring a single company for both can streamline the process and ensure a cohesive style across both mediums. This can also be more cost-effective, as some companies offer discounted packages for booking both services together.
Advantages of hiring one company include:
Seamless teamwork: Since the photographers and videographers work together regularly, they understand each other’s flow and can coordinate more effectively.
Consistency in style: Hiring a single company ensures that both your photos and videos share a similar aesthetic and approach.
Cost savings: Many companies offer discounts when you book both services as a package deal.
How long does it take to receive wedding photos and videos?
Editing wedding photos and videos can take time, depending on the photographer and videographer’s workload and the complexity of editing. Here’s a general timeline:
Photography: You can typically expect to receive your edited photos within 4 to 8 weeks after the wedding.
Videography: Edited videos, including highlight reels and full-length films, usually take 6 to 12 weeks to complete, depending on the length and level of editing required.
Some videographers offer teaser videos—short clips shared within a week or two of the wedding to give you a sneak peek.
Why should I choose a wedding photographer in Cambridgeshire?
Choosing a local wedding photographer in Cambridgeshire provides several advantages. A photographer who is familiar with the region will know the best locations, understand local venues, and be able to navigate any potential logistical challenges. Whether you’re getting married at a historic venue like Ely Cathedral or hosting a countryside celebration in one of Cambridgeshire’s beautiful rural estates, a local photographer will know how to make the most of the surroundings.
Additionally, hiring a local photographer reduces travel costs and ensures timely arrival on your big day, without concerns about long-distance travel or unfamiliar routes.

When choosing a wedding photographer, consider the following:
Style: Look at portfolios and decide whether you prefer a traditional, documentary, or contemporary style of photography. Ensure the photographer’s style aligns with your vision for your wedding day.
Experience: It’s important to choose a photographer with experience shooting weddings at similar venues or in similar settings. If your wedding is at an outdoor estate, for example, make sure they have experience with natural light and landscape photography.
Reviews and recommendations: Read testimonials from previous couples in the Cambridgeshire area to get an idea of the photographer’s professionalism, reliability, and quality of service.
Packages and pricing: Ensure the package covers everything you need—whether that’s full-day coverage, an engagement shoot, or a second photographer for larger weddings.
Connection: Meet with potential photographers (virtually or in person) to ensure you have a good rapport, as they will be a key part of your day.
How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer in Cambridgeshire?
It’s recommended to book your wedding photographer at least 12-18 months in advance, especially if you are getting married during peak wedding season (spring and summer). Popular photographers in Cambridgeshire can be booked up early, so securing your date well in advance will give you peace of mind.

Several photography styles are popular among couples getting married in Cambridgeshire:
Traditional: Posed group shots and formal portraits, capturing all the key moments and people in a timeless way.
Documentary/Photojournalistic: Candid, natural shots that tell the story of the day, often without the photographer directing or staging the photos.
Fine Art: Highly stylized and creative, with an emphasis on light, composition, and artistic framing, often giving the images a dreamy, romantic feel.
Contemporary: A blend of candid and posed shots with an emphasis on capturing the modern details of the wedding day in a fresh, vibrant way.

It’s a great way to get comprehensive coverage, preserving both the visual and emotional aspects of your celebration. Combined packages often include:
Full-day coverage by both a photographer and videographer.
A highlight video alongside high-resolution photos.
Additional services like drone footage or extended coverage for multi-day weddings.
Hiring a single team for both photography and videography can streamline your planning process and ensure a cohesive style throughout both mediums.
What is a destination wedding photographer?
A destination wedding photographer is a professional who specializes in capturing weddings at locations away from the couple’s hometown or country. This could include exotic beaches, historic cities, mountain resorts, or any place outside your local area where you choose to tie the knot. Destination wedding photographers are experienced in traveling to different venues, adapting to various lighting conditions, and working in unfamiliar environments.
They are particularly skilled at making the most of unique locations, whether it’s a beach wedding in Santorini, a rustic ceremony in Tuscany, or an intimate elopement in the Scottish Highlands. Hiring a photographer with experience in destination weddings ensures that they understand the logistical challenges and opportunities presented by such events.
Why hire a destination wedding photographer?
Expertise in various settings: Destination wedding photographers are skilled at adapting to different venues, whether it’s a beach at sunset or a historic villa. They have the experience to handle unpredictable weather, lighting, and terrain.
Familiarity with travel logistics: A seasoned destination photographer knows how to manage travel and accommodation arrangements, often having experience shooting in multiple countries and coordinating with local vendors and venues.
Specialized equipment: These photographers typically come prepared with all the necessary gear to ensure that your photos turn out beautifully, regardless of the location. They may also have experience with drones, underwater photography, or other techniques specific to destination weddings.
Unique and creative shots: Since destination weddings are often set in visually stunning locations, a destination photographer will know how to make the most of the surroundings, capturing not only the key moments but also the beauty of the location.
What should I consider when booking a destination wedding photographer?
Travel and accommodation: You will typically be responsible for covering the photographer’s travel and accommodation expenses. This can include flights, hotel stays, and sometimes transportation within the destination. It’s essential to clarify these details upfront to avoid any surprises.
Experience with destination weddings: Make sure your photographer has experience with destination weddings. Ask to see portfolios of past destination shoots to ensure they can handle the unique challenges of shooting in unfamiliar locations.
Local knowledge: Some destination wedding photographers may already have experience with your chosen venue or location. This can be a bonus, as they’ll know the best spots for photos and how to navigate any logistical issues.
Language barriers and local customs: If you’re having a wedding abroad, it’s helpful if your photographer is familiar with the local culture and, ideally, the language. This can help them communicate with venue staff and other vendors and avoid any potential misunderstandings.
Legalities and permits: Some locations may require permits for professional photography, especially in historic sites or national parks. Ensure your photographer is aware of any such requirements and can handle these details for you.
What should I expect to pay for a destination wedding photographer?
The cost of hiring a destination wedding photographer can vary depending on their experience, location, and what is included in the package. In addition to the photographer’s fee, you’ll need to cover their travel and accommodation expenses. Here’s a breakdown of typical costs:
Photography package fee: This can range from £2,000 to £10,000+ depending on the photographer’s experience, the length of coverage, and whether they offer additional services like videography, albums, or engagement shoots.
Travel and accommodation expenses: Typically, you’ll need to pay for round-trip flights, hotel stays, and potentially transportation (such as a rental car) at the destination.
Additional services: Some photographers offer add-ons like drone photography, underwater photography, or day-after shoots, which may increase the overall cost.
How do I find the right destination wedding photographer?
Search online portfolios: Look for photographers who specialize in destination weddings. Review their portfolios to ensure their style aligns with your vision and that they have experience in your chosen destination.
Check reviews and testimonials: Read reviews from other couples who’ve hired the photographer for destination weddings. Pay attention to feedback about how the photographer handled travel logistics and the quality of the final images.
Consult local venues: Many destination venues have preferred vendor lists that include photographers who are familiar with the area. This can be a great way to find a photographer who knows the location well.
Schedule a consultation: Once you’ve narrowed down your options, schedule a virtual consultation with your potential photographer. This gives you a chance to discuss your vision, confirm availability, and get to know their working style.
What are the benefits of hiring a destination wedding photographer instead of a local photographer at the destination?
Consistent quality: A photographer you hire and bring with you ensures consistent quality across all your events, from pre-wedding shoots to the ceremony and reception. You’ll also have the chance to meet and communicate with your photographer before the wedding.
Better communication: Since you’re likely hiring a photographer who speaks your language and understands your culture, it’s easier to convey your ideas, preferences, and must-have shots.
Pre-wedding shoots: Some destination photographers include engagement or pre-wedding shoots as part of the package, allowing you to get comfortable with them and their style before the big day.
How do destination photographers handle multiple days of events?
Destination weddings often span multiple days, especially for couples hosting welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, or post-wedding brunches. Many photographers offer multi-day packages that cover all the key events. This can include:
Rehearsal dinner: Casual, candid shots of the pre-wedding festivities.
Ceremony and reception: Full coverage of the main wedding day, including preparations, the ceremony, and evening celebrations.
Day-after shoots: A popular option for destination weddings is a post-wedding session, where the couple can take more relaxed, stylized photos in a unique location.
If you’re planning a multi-day event, discuss with your photographer how much coverage you need and whether they offer discounted rates for multiple days.
What are the best locations for a destination wedding photographer?
Some popular destination wedding photography locations include:
Europe: Italy (Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Venice), France (Paris, Provence), Greece (Santorini, Mykonos), Spain (Barcelona, Ibiza), and Croatia (Dubrovnik).
Tropical destinations: Maldives, Bali, Hawaii, Seychelles, the Caribbean (Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia), and Mauritius.
Rustic or mountainous venues: Scottish Highlands, Swiss Alps, Iceland, New Zealand, and Norway.
Urban settings: Paris, New York City, London, Rome, or Prague for a chic, city-based destination wedding.
Each location offers its own unique beauty, and a skilled photographer will know how to capture the essence of the place while highlighting your love story.
The aim is to seize, with naturalness and spontaneity, the beauty of a moment, capture a loving, tender, or moved gaze, catch fleeting laughter or tears of happiness: so many suspended moments that will remain engraved memories forever, so many details that reveal a magnificent love story. Yours.
The human qualities of a photographer, and not only with regard to the two people getting married, are essential. Knowing how to listen, explain, advise, and reassure is just as important as knowing how to capture beautiful photos. The profession is human, much more than technical.
The work is rigorous for each photo, during shooting and post-processing. As a wedding photographer, my intention is to deliver the most beautiful reportage to you. It is done with the most beautiful photos. To get them, I constantly look for the best angles, the light, and the contrasts best suited to the situation. EXCELLENTBased on 120 reviewsFinlay Knops-Mckim2023-12-20We've used Jean-Luc as the photographer for our company's Christmas Parties for the past few years and he's always done an excellent job. We've usually hosted our events in Cambridge colleges which can have a challenging array of lighting conditions, but this hasn't stopped us getting some great photos. Particularly appreciate the ability to take good candid shots rather than just posing everyone. It makes for a wide variety of photos that fully capture the vibe of the event. There's also some very entertaining action shots from the dancefloor. Practically, the online platform used (Smugmug) is very easy to use both for viewing photos and downloading them.Cathy Wood2023-12-01Jean-Luc was absolutely marvelous! Not only were the pictures great, but he went all around Cambridge with us pointing out interesting landmarks and facts, all while capturing beautiful images of the whole family. We have 2 small children and they very quickly felt at ease with him and when my 3 yr old needed to be held and no longer wanted to cooperate, he still managed to get such sweet shots of her. It was a really lovely hour and a half and I am truly grateful. The images came back to us so quickly with such a collection to pick from: thank you Jean-Luc!Jean-Philippe Brucker2023-11-26Jean-Luc took fantastic pictures at our wedding.
